Eight people have died, while 21 others have been rescued following a fatal road accident involving an Ivorian passenger bus and a parked Burkinabè bus at Azuletti, near Samenye, on the Elubo–Takoradi Highway.

The tragic collision occurred when the Ivorian passenger bus crashed into the stationary Burkinabè bus, resulting in multiple casualties.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), in its preliminary assessment of the incident, indicated that speeding may have contributed to the crash.

Emergency responders rescued 21 people from the scene, while eight others were confirmed dead.

The incident has once again raised concerns about road safety and the dangers of speeding, particularly along major highways.

Further investigations are expected to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the collision.
