Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has hosted the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Dr. Stephen Yenusom Wengam, and his delegation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss preparations for the upcoming World Assemblies of God Congress.

The meeting focused on arrangements for the prestigious international religious gathering, which Ghana is privileged to host as the first African country to be given the opportunity.

Mr. Ablakwa reaffirmed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ commitment to supporting the successful organisation of the congress, emphasising that Ghana’s diplomatic missions across 73 countries are ready to provide the necessary diplomatic and protocol assistance.

According to the Minister, the support forms part of the Ministry’s established tradition of assisting international organisations and major events hosted by Ghana.

He noted that hosting the global congress presents another opportunity for the country to strengthen its reputation as a preferred destination for international conferences and gatherings.

Mr. Ablakwa stressed the need for Ghana to leverage its renowned hospitality, welcoming people, political stability, economic recovery and democratic credentials to attract more international events.

He expressed optimism that the congress would be successful and have a lasting spiritual impact on participants while bringing further recognition to Ghana on the international stage.

The Minister also conveyed his best wishes to Rev. Dr. Wengam, the organisers and all participants, expressing hope that the gathering would be a transformative experience and bring additional blessings to the country.

Ghana’s hosting of the World Assemblies of God Congress is expected to bring together members of the international religious community, providing an opportunity for fellowship, spiritual renewal and stronger connections among Assemblies of God congregations worldwide.
