The Agricultural Development Bank, ADB PLC, has recorded a profit before tax of GH¢478.5 million for the nine months ending September 30, 2026, representing an increase from GH¢447.5 million recorded during the corresponding period last year.

The bank’s latest financial results indicate continued growth in profitability, alongside improvements in customer deposits and other key financial indicators.

Profit after tax also increased by 6.9 per cent, rising from GH¢282.3 million in September 2025 to GH¢301.7 million in September 2026.

Customer deposits grew by 19.5 per cent to GH¢15.36 billion, compared with GH¢12.85 billion during the same period last year. This represents an increase of approximately GH¢2.51 billion.

The bank also reported growth in its total assets, which increased from GH¢16.22 billion to GH¢20.28 billion.

According to the published financial statements, ADB’s capital adequacy ratio rose to 27.41 per cent, while its liquidity ratio increased to 145.83 per cent.

The bank also reduced its interest expenses by 36.1 per cent, from GH¢565.4 million to GH¢361.3 million.

Managing Director Edward Ato Sarpong described the performance as encouraging, stating that the improvements reflected the bank’s efforts to strengthen its financial position and build a more resilient institution.

The results are significant as banks depend on sound capital positions, adequate liquidity and effective risk management to maintain stability and support lending.

However, the bank’s non-performing loans ratio, although lower than the previous year’s figure, remained elevated at 66.32 per cent. This suggests that credit risk and loan recovery will remain important areas for management.

ADB says it intends to consolidate its financial gains while continuing to support agriculture, agribusiness, businesses and individuals across the country.
