Ghanaian actress Ahoufe Patri has opened up about the impact of rumours surrounding her personal life, saying false claims about smoking and pregnancy cost her important career opportunities and relationships.

The actress revealed that the rumours affected how some people perceived her, despite her insistence that the claims were untrue. According to her, the situation became a major setback at a time when she was building her career in Ghana’s movie industry.

“I lost big opportunities and good relationships over smoking rumours and pregnancy. This was a huge blow for me,” Ahoufe Patri said in an interview on Okay FM.

The actress has been active in the movie industry for about 14 years. She recalled beginning her professional journey with the movie Shakira, where she had a cameo alongside actors including Mercy Johnson and Kofi Adjorlolo. She later pursued further training at the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI).

Ahoufe Patri’s comments have once again highlighted the challenges celebrities face when rumours about their private lives spread publicly, particularly when such claims begin influencing professional relationships and opportunities.
