Alan Kyerematen Vows To Break NPP NDC Duopoly Says Ghana Problems Stem From Two Party System
Story By: Deborah Adorsu
Leader and Founder of the United Party, Alan Kyerematen, has attributed Ghana’s challenges to the longstanding political duopoly of the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress.
Mr. Kyerematen said the two dominant parties has stalled development and left taxpayer funded projects abandoned.
He argued that Ghana’s political landscape has become too polarised, creating the need for a credible third force that can unite the country and offer a pragmatic alternative.
Kyerematen, who resigned from the NPP in 2023 to form the Movement for Change before rebranding it into the United Party, maintained that his movement will reject monetisation of politics and focus on merit and national unity ahead of the 2028 general elections.
