The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has appealed to the general public to help trace the relatives of a 65-year-old woman identified as Aba Esi, who was found at Kaneshie in Accra with a severe wound on her left leg.
The elderly woman was reportedly found loitering in the area on Saturday, October 3, 2026, and is currently receiving medical treatment as efforts continue to locate her family and ensure she receives the necessary care and support.
The Head of the AMA’s Department of Social Welfare and Community Development, Mrs. Felicia Amoakohene, said the woman’s condition had raised concerns about her welfare, prompting the Assembly to seek assistance from the public in identifying her relatives.
She urged members of the public to circulate information about Aba Esi widely, particularly through social media platforms and community networks, to increase the chances of reaching anyone who might recognise her.
Mrs. Amoakohene expressed hope that collective public efforts would help reunite the elderly woman with her loved ones.
She also called on anyone with information about Aba Esi or her relatives to contact the AMA’s Department of Social Welfare and Community Development on 024 185 6401 or 024 250 2497.
The Assembly’s appeal forms part of efforts to safeguard the welfare of the elderly woman and reconnect her with her family so she can receive the necessary support and care.
