The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has fully covered the cost of surgery for one of its sanitation workers, Madam Cynthia Yeboah, who sustained injuries in an accident while performing her duties.
The Mayor of Accra, Hon. Michael Kpakpo Allotey, led a delegation from the Assembly to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on Monday, October 5, 2026, where he presented GH¢38,656 to settle the full cost of Ms Yeboah’s surgery.
Ms Yeboah was involved in an accident on September 16, 2026, and was subsequently admitted to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for treatment.
During the visit, Mayor Allotey assured her of the Assembly’s continued support throughout her treatment and recovery.
He said the welfare of AMA employees remained a priority for the current administration, stressing that workers would not be abandoned when they faced difficult circumstances.
The Mayor further stated that the Assembly’s management was committed to building an institution that genuinely supported and cared for its workers, particularly during times of need.
