Ato Forson engages industry leaders ahead of 2027 budget

Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has held discussions with the leadership of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) and leading industrialists as part of stakeholder consultations ahead of the 2027 Budget.

The meeting focused on Ghana’s economic direction and measures that could support businesses to expand production, increase exports and create more jobs. The engagement forms part of broader consultations ahead of the presentation of the 2027 Budget, which is expected to outline the government’s next phase of its economic programme.

Dr Forson urged businesses to invest with confidence, saying the government intends to sustain the gains made in economic stabilisation while moving the country towards transformation.

The AGI President, Dr Kofi Nsiah-Poku, acknowledged the progress made in stabilising the economy and said the focus should now shift towards growth, industrial expansion, exports and job creation.

The government has described this next phase as its “New Economy” programme, with the full framework expected to be presented as part of the 2027 Budget.

Dr Forson has characterised the transition as a move from economic stability towards transformation, while encouraging the private sector to play a central role in expanding Ghana’s productive capacity.
