Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson is expected to outline the government’s economic vision under the New Economy agenda next week, with a focus on creating decent jobs, improving incomes and expanding opportunities for Ghanaian businesses.

According to a message accompanying an announcement from the Ministry of Finance, Ghanaians have made significant sacrifices towards restoring the economy, and the next phase of the recovery must translate into tangible improvements in their livelihoods.

The statement emphasised the need for the country’s economic gains to create decent employment opportunities for young people, improve incomes for farmers and provide an enabling environment for local businesses to expand and employ more people.

Dr. Ato Forson is expected to explain how the New Economy agenda will transform the gains made in economic recovery into jobs, business growth and shared prosperity.

The announcement comes amid growing expectations for economic recovery to deliver direct benefits to households, workers, farmers and businesses across the country.

The Finance Minister’s upcoming presentation is expected to provide further insight into the government’s plans for turning economic progress into improved living standards and broader economic opportunities for Ghanaians.
