Bank of Ghana announces latest exchange rates and gold coin prices

The Bank of Ghana has released its latest daily exchange rates and Ghana Gold Coin prices for Wednesday, September 2, 2026, reflecting the prevailing interbank rates and international gold market conditions.

According to the Bank’s exchange rate update, the US dollar is being bought at GH¢11.2669 and sold at GH¢11.2781.

The British pound sterling is trading at a buying rate of GH¢15.2396 and a selling rate of GH¢15.2559, while the euro has a buying rate of GH¢13.0610 and a selling rate of GH¢13.0739.

The Bank explained that the rates represent the average interbank rates used by commercial banks for transactions at the close of business on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

Ghana Gold Coin prices

The Bank of Ghana has also published the prices of its Ghana Gold Coins for the day.

The 0.25-ounce gold coin is priced at GH¢13,257.23, while the 0.50-ounce coin is valued at GH¢25,764.80.

The 1.00-ounce Ghana Gold Coin is priced at GH¢50,825.71.

The Bank noted that the previous day’s LBMA PM gold price stood at US$4,353.15, while the Bloomberg REGN USDGHS closing rate was 11.2750.

The latest figures provide an indication of the prevailing foreign exchange market rates and the value of Ghana’s gold-backed investment coins as of September 2, 2026.
