The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has engaged key stakeholders in Accra as part of its Nationwide Letter of Commitment (LOC) Sensitisation Programme aimed at improving compliance, facilitating trade and strengthening the management of Ghana’s export proceeds.
The engagement, held on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, forms part of efforts to ensure that exporters comply with the country’s foreign exchange regulations while promoting an efficient and transparent trading environment.

Speaking at the programme, the Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Mrs. Matilda Asante-Asiedu, stressed the need for an effective Letter of Commitment regime that supports legitimate export activities without creating unnecessary obstacles for businesses.
She noted that the framework should provide exporters with a transparent, predictable and efficient system while ensuring that export proceeds are properly managed in line with the country’s foreign exchange requirements.

The Nationwide LOC Sensitisation Programme is also expected to strengthen collaboration between the central bank and key stakeholders in the export and trade sectors.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to safeguard Ghana’s foreign exchange resources and improve accountability in the handling of proceeds from exports.

Through the sensitisation exercise, the Bank of Ghana aims to deepen stakeholders’ understanding of the LOC framework and encourage greater compliance with the regulations governing export transactions.
