CID arrests Dr. Clemence Gyato over Accra Race Course demolition

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested Dr. Clemence Gyato in connection with the alleged unlawful demolition of buildings and structures belonging to the Accra Race Course at Borteyman in Accra.

The arrest was made on Thursday, September 10, 2026, as the CID begins investigations into the circumstances surrounding the demolition.

According to the Police, Dr. Gyato is currently in custody and is assisting investigators as they work to establish the facts and determine the full circumstances that led to the demolition.

The investigation is expected to establish the events surrounding the incident, including the authority under which the structures were demolished and the parties involved.
