Commuters Urge Government To Act Swiftly On Remaining Bad Roads

Story By: Deborah Adorsu

Residents and drivers plying the Mallam McCarthy stretch of the Accra Cape Coast Highway have hailed improved movement following the commencement of rehabilitation works.

Commuters who shared their excitement on Monday October 26 said traffic around Mallam Junction has eased after months of heavy congestion caused by potholes and deteriorated sections.

The improvement follows persistent complaint from residents including those living in Kasoa who said they had to leave home as early as 4:30am to reach workplaces late.

While welcoming the easing of traffic on the Mallam Junction section of the McCarthy Hill corridor, residents and drivers say government must respond to similar road challenges with urgency.

According to them, the recent rehabilitation works have brought relief to commuters who endured months of congestion, but several other deplorable stretches continue to cause delays and frustration.
