Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has praised Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama after a video showing the president dancing during a church service attracted attention on social media. The singer’s reaction added an international entertainment angle to a moment that had already generated discussion among Ghanaians online.

The footage showed Mahama worshipping at the Assemblies of God Church, Ringway Gospel Centre, where he joined other congregants to present his offering. The president appeared relaxed as he moved alongside fellow worshippers, offering viewers a glimpse of him outside the formal setting of official presidential engagements.

Davido responded to the footage through his Instagram Story, describing Mahama as humble and referring to him as a leader. His comment drew further attention to the video, with the involvement of the Nigerian music star helping the moment reach audiences beyond Ghana.

The footage also highlights how ordinary public appearances by prominent figures can become major online talking points. In an era when social media quickly spreads videos across national borders, a brief moment at a church service can generate conversations about leadership, personality and the public image of political figures.

While reactions to the video may differ, Davido’s response has placed the interaction at the intersection of Ghanaian public life and African entertainment. The story demonstrates how celebrity comments can amplify a local moment and turn it into a wider regional conversation.
