Deputy Health Minister visits Centre for Plant Medicine Research

The Deputy Minister for Health, Prof. Dr. G. A. Danquah, has paid a working visit to the Centre for Plant Medicine Research (CPMR) to gain first-hand insight into the Centre’s operations and its contribution to Ghana’s healthcare system.

The visit provided an opportunity for the Deputy Minister to engage with researchers and officials of the Centre and learn more about ongoing research, innovation and the development of plant-based medicines.

The Centre for Plant Medicine Research plays an important role in promoting scientific research into medicinal plants and exploring their potential to support healthcare delivery in Ghana.

The Deputy Minister’s engagement is expected to strengthen collaboration between the Ministry of Health and the Centre, particularly in advancing research and innovation and integrating scientifically validated plant-based solutions into Ghana’s healthcare system.

The visit also highlights the growing importance of research and innovation in finding safe, effective and locally developed solutions to the country’s healthcare needs.
