Electoral Commission takes part in 2027 Budget hearings

Written by; Regina Bless

Preparations for Ghana’s 2027 Budget are underway, with the Electoral Commission (EC) taking its turn at the ongoing budget hearings.

The engagement forms part of the government’s preparations toward the 2027 national budget, providing public institutions with an opportunity to present their programmes, priorities and financial requirements for the coming fiscal year.

The Electoral Commission’s participation is expected to focus on its planned activities, operational needs and resources required to strengthen the country’s electoral administration.

The budget hearings are an important part of the national budgeting process, allowing government agencies and institutions to outline their priorities and justify their proposed allocations.

As preparations continue, the outcome of the hearings will contribute to the formulation of the 2027 Budget, which is expected to set out the government’s spending priorities and policy direction for the year.
