The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has hosted a delegation from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, led by its Director-General, COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, to strengthen cooperation in combating illegal activities involving FDA-regulated products.

The visit focused on enhancing collaboration between the two institutions to address unlawful practices that pose risks to public health and safety.

The partnership is expected to support efforts to identify, investigate and address offences involving products regulated by the FDA, including activities that could endanger consumers.

The engagement also highlights the importance of inter-agency cooperation in enforcing regulatory standards, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and protecting the public from unsafe or substandard products.

Through strengthened collaboration, the FDA and the CID reaffirm their commitment to promoting public health and ensuring that products available to consumers meet the required safety and quality standards.
