Ghana and Saudi Arabia deepen talks on railway and energy infrastructure investments

Ghana and Saudi Arabia are exploring stronger investment cooperation in railway development and energy infrastructure as both countries seek to deepen their bilateral relations.

The discussions took place in New York during a bilateral meeting between Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable Samuel Okudzeto, and Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, His Excellency Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.

The meeting focused on strengthening economic and diplomatic ties, with particular attention to infrastructure projects that could support Ghana’s long-term development.

The two ministers also agreed to strengthen cooperation on key continental priorities as Ghana prepares to assume the Chair of the African Union.

According to the discussions, Ghana and Saudi Arabia will intensify high-level engagements aimed at attracting increased investment and strengthening support for President John Dramani Mahama’s Reset Agenda.

The proposed cooperation in railway and energy infrastructure is expected to form part of broader efforts to mobilise international investment, improve connectivity and support sustainable economic growth in Ghana.
