Ghana Water Limited To Ration Water in Parts of Accra
Story By: Deborah Adorsu
Ghana Water Limited has announced plans to introduce water rationing in parts of Greater Accra within the next two weeks as part of measures to manage supply challenges.
According to the company, engineers have re-engineered water systems in some communities to improve flow and ensure fair distribution ahead of the exercise.
The move is aimed at addressing low pressure and intermittent flow being experienced in several areas due to high demand and ongoing maintenance works on major transmission lines.
Management says affected communities will be duly notified of their rationing schedule to enable them to store enough water.
The company is appealing to residents to conserve water and report leakages promptly while engineers work to stabilize supply.
