India’s Minister of External Affairs, His Excellency Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, is scheduled to pay an official visit to Ghana from October 6 to 7, 2026, at the invitation of Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
The visit is expected to strengthen the longstanding relationship between Ghana and India and provide an opportunity for both countries to reaffirm their shared values and commitment to closer cooperation.
During the two-day visit, Ghana and India are expected to hold high-level discussions aimed at deepening bilateral relations across several strategic areas.
Key areas of cooperation will include pharmaceutical development under President John Dramani Mahama’s Accra Reset philosophy, as well as stronger collaboration in agriculture, particularly mechanisation and value addition.
The discussions will also focus on India’s support for Ghana’s industrialisation and job creation agenda, alongside efforts to expand scholarship opportunities and partnerships in information technology.
The visit is expected to provide a platform for both countries to explore new areas of cooperation while strengthening existing partnerships in sectors considered important to Ghana’s economic transformation.
Ghana says it looks forward to welcoming Dr. Jaishankar and using the visit to further renew and deepen the historic bonds of friendship and solidarity between the two countries.
