King Promise Takes Ghanaian Sound To Chelsea Fans Across Africa

Ghanaian music star King Promise has added another international chapter to his career after teaming up with English football club Chelsea for an official supporters’ anthem.
The song, titled “Can’t Tame Us (Chelsea Anthem),” was written by King Promise and forms part of Chelsea’s efforts to strengthen its connection with supporters across Africa. The track was officially released in September and is expected to feature around Chelsea fixtures during the 2026/27 season.
The project carries a particularly strong Ghanaian connection. The accompanying music video was filmed at locations in Accra, including the Rent Paid Football Exhibition Tournament and Nungua SDA Park, where King Promise grew up playing football.
For the singer, returning to Nungua SDA Park was more than just a location choice. He described the park as a place where his love for football developed through playing with friends and interacting with the community.
The project also brought Chelsea supporters in Ghana together through the Rent Paid tournament, involving groups including Team DWP, Team New Media and Amen X Eleven. The event also served as the African launch of Chelsea’s new home kit.
Chelsea brand director Scott Fenton said the collaboration followed King Promise approaching the club with the idea for the track. He described the project as a celebration of Chelsea’s African supporters and the culture surrounding the club.
For King Promise, the partnership represents a combination of two major parts of his identity—music and football. It also gives his music another platform beyond the traditional concert and streaming spaces.
