Madina MP, Francis-Xavier Sosu stable after falling ill

Parliament has confirmed that Hon. Dr Francis-Xavier Sosu, Member of Parliament for the Madina Constituency, is in stable condition after falling ill while delivering a presentation at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

According to a statement from Parliament, the incident occurred during the event, where the MP received immediate assistance before being transferred to a medical facility for further attention.

Parliament said Dr Sosu is currently receiving medical care under the supervision of his medical team.

The institution expressed appreciation to the management and staff of GIMPA, medical personnel and others who responded promptly to the incident. Parliament also thanked members of the public for their prayers and messages of goodwill.

Parliament has meanwhile appealed to the public and media organisations to refrain from sharing videos of the incident, out of respect for Dr Sosu and his family.

The public has also been urged not to speculate about the cause of the incident or his medical condition and to respect the privacy of his family.

Parliament said any further updates on the MP’s condition will be communicated through its official channels as appropriate.
