Mahama arrives in Serbia for 65th anniversary of Non-Aligned Movement

President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Belgrade, Serbia, to participate in a high-level meeting commemorating the 65th anniversary of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

The meeting brings together representatives from member states to reflect on the movement’s history, achievements and continued relevance in addressing global challenges.

President Mahama’s participation provides an opportunity for Ghana to engage with other countries on issues of international cooperation, peace, development and the interests of developing nations.

The Non-Aligned Movement was established during the Cold War to provide a platform for countries that sought to maintain an independent position in global affairs rather than formally aligning with major power blocs.

The 65th anniversary gathering in Belgrade is expected to highlight the movement’s enduring role in promoting multilateral cooperation and strengthening solidarity among its member states.
