President John Dramani Mahama has received the Western North Regional House of Chiefs at the Presidency for discussions on regional development, infrastructure and economic growth.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the traditional leaders to engage the President on key development priorities and explore ways to accelerate economic progress in the Western North Region.

During the engagement, President Mahama outlined the Government’s New Economic Policy, which identifies nine priority pillars for investment, with approximately US$2 billion expected to be invested annually over five years.
The President also highlighted the importance of the construction sector in driving economic growth, creating employment opportunities and supporting the expansion of businesses across the country.

He noted the sector’s role in stimulating economic activity through infrastructure development and creating opportunities for workers, contractors and other businesses along the construction value chain.
The engagement underscores the role of traditional authorities in Ghana’s development process, particularly in identifying local needs, supporting development initiatives and strengthening collaboration between government and communities.

The discussions are expected to contribute to ongoing efforts to address infrastructure needs and promote sustainable economic development in the Western North Region.
