Ministry of Finance moves to conclude 2027 budget hearings

Story by: Regina Bless
The Ministry of Finance is expected to conclude its budget hearings with Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) as preparations continue toward Ghana’s 2027–2030 Budget.

The hearings form part of the Ministry’s budget preparation process and provide an opportunity to assess the financial and non-financial performance of covered entities, as well as examine their budget proposals, programmes and projects.

The Ministry’s 2027–2030 Budget Preparation Guidelines, issued in August 2026, set out the procedures and expenditure ceilings for MDAs and Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies as they prepare their budget proposals.

As the process progresses, the emphasis remains on ensuring that proposed programmes and expenditure priorities align with Ghana’s fiscal objectives and public-sector needs.

The budget hearings are therefore an important stage in determining how available public resources are planned and allocated ahead of the presentation of the 2027 Budget.
“Every decision must serve the best interest of the Ghanaian people.”
