MTTD Trains Police and Public Sector Partners Ahead of Traffitech-GH Rollout

The Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service, in collaboration with its private sector partner, has organised a training programme for selected Police personnel and public sector stakeholders ahead of the implementation of the Traffitech-GH project.

The training, held on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the Stevens Hotel Conference Room in Ho, Volta Region, focused on the operation of the Traffitech-GH system, as well as key provisions of the Road Traffic Regulations, 2026 (L.I. 2519) and the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 2025 (Act 1153).

The programme forms part of preparations for the operationalisation of Traffitech-GH on October 1, 2026, in accordance with Regulation 242. It was the fifth and final session in a nationwide series of enforcement training programmes.

A total of 45 participants took part, including MTTD personnel from Ho and representatives of the Judicial Service, National Road Safety Authority (NRSA), National Insurance Commission (NIC), and Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA).

Participants received training on automated road traffic offences and fines under Regulation 242, the implementation and operation of the Traffitech-GH system, and the process for contesting traffic offences.

The selected regional back-office team also received practical training on the use of the in-vehicle fixed camera and the handheld/tripod Lasercam4 speed camera.

As part of the preparations, the Volta Regional back office at the Regional MTTD Office in Ho has been equipped with the updated Traffitech-GH software ahead of the October 1 rollout.
