NDC Using State Power To Silence Ghana Jollof Over Kevin Taylor Criticism

The New Patriotic Party Communications Team Member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Emmanuel Chambers, has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government of using state power to silence popular social media commentator Ghana Jollof.

According to him, the move is politically motivated and linked to Ghana Jollof’s consistent criticism of US-based commentator Kevin Taylor.

Speaking in an interview, Mr. Chambers alleged that the current administration is weaponizing state institutions to intimidate dissenting voices, particularly those who expose what he described as the double standards of persons affiliated with the NDC.

He stated that attempts to gag Ghana Jollof will not succeed, insisting that every alleged wrongdoing must be accounted for regardless of how long it takes.

“Crime has no expiring date. You cannot use state power to silence someone today and think Ghanaians will forget the crimes of yesterday,” Mr. Chambers said.

He further called on civil society, the media, and human rights groups to pay attention to what he termed as shrinking civic space and targeted harassment of government critics.

Mr. Chambers urged the government to focus on governance and improving the living conditions of Ghanaians rather than chasing social commentators.

He maintained that the NPP will continue to defend freedom of speech and hold the government accountable.
