Over 100 Ghanaian Health Workers Deployed To Grenada Under Labour Export Programme

Story By: Deborah Adorsu

More than 100 Ghanaian health workers have been deployed to Grenada to support the Caribbean nation’s health sector under the government’s Labour Export Programme.

The deployment is aimed at helping to address a shortage of skilled caregivers in Grenada while providing employment opportunities for Ghanaian professionals abroad.

Chief of Staff Dr Julius Debrah, who addressed the health workers before their departure, urged them to be diligent and professional in the discharge of their duties.

Adding his voice to the call, Labour Minister Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum has urged health workers deployed to Grenada to honour their contracts and return to Ghana when they expire.

He says plans are advanced to deploy more nurses to Germany and other Caribbean countries.
