The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested three suspected members of an outlaw motorcycle gang accused of terrorising residents in the Breman-Kronum-Suame enclave in the Ashanti Region.

According to a press statement issued on November 4, 2026, the suspects are alleged to have engaged in illegal midnight motorcycle racing, taken over public roads and attacked and robbed unsuspecting passersby, creating fear and insecurity among residents.

The police identified the arrested suspects as Sharif Mahmud, 23, Abdallah Karim, 25, and James Alena, 25.
The arrests were made at approximately 1:40 a.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2026, when a police team intercepted the group at Suame in Kumasi. Several other suspected gang members reportedly escaped during the operation.

The Ashanti Regional Police Command disclosed that it had been monitoring the activities and movements of the group as part of sustained efforts to apprehend its members, who had allegedly been evading arrest.
The three suspects have been granted police inquiry bail and are expected to appear before court when the courts resume sitting following the ongoing strike by the Judicial Service Association of Ghana (JUSAG).

Meanwhile, investigations are continuing, with the police intensifying efforts to track down and arrest the remaining suspects.
The police have assured residents of their commitment to maintaining law and order and urged the public to volunteer credible information that could assist in identifying and apprehending the fleeing suspects.
