Police arrest two suspects over alleged lynching at Daboya

The Savannah Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the alleged lynching of a young man at Daboya in the North Gonja District of the Savannah Region.

The suspects have been identified as Adjei Abdulai, 25, a carpenter, and Issah Mahama, 22, a student. Their arrests followed investigations into the incident, which was reportedly captured in a video circulating on social media.

According to the Police, preliminary investigations indicate that the victim, identified as Yibonwura, was allegedly attacked after being accused of stealing sheanuts. He later died from injuries sustained during the incident.

The two suspects are currently in police custody and assisting with investigations.

Meanwhile, the Police have launched a manhunt for a third suspect who is currently at large. Investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and ensure that all persons connected to the alleged crime are brought to justice.

The Savannah Regional Police Command has reiterated its commitment to pursuing the case and ensuring that due process is followed.
