President Mahama Launches Report On Sovereign Future For Health at the Full Circle Making Global Development Work Again event on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Speaking at the Accra Reset event, the President said the report provides a framework for a new global bargain that gives countries in the Global South greater control over their health and development priorities.

He described the move as a shift from aid dependence to pragmatic interdependence and mature equal partnerships, linking research, regulatory oversight, local manufacturing and reliable distribution.

According to the President, Ghana and many countries in Africa cannot achieve genuine ownership while financing, production and decision-making for essential health services remain exposed to donor priorities.

In response, Dangote Group President, Aliko Dangote credits President Mahama’s leadership for what he describe as a turnaround in Ghana’s economy.
