Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale surprised fans at the MoMoFest X ShattaFest in Adaklu when he performed Stonebwoy’s hit song Putuu, using the moment to call for unity among Ghanaian artistes and their supporters.

The performance attracted an enthusiastic response from the thousands of fans gathered at the Youth Resources Centre in Adaklu, where Shatta Wale headlined the event.

Introducing the song, the dancehall artiste highlighted the achievements of major artistes from the Volta Region, specifically mentioning Stonebwoy, Edem and himself.

Shatta Wale said his decision to perform Putuu was intended to demonstrate that artistes could support and celebrate one another instead of allowing rivalry and hatred to divide them.

He also encouraged young people to embrace love, unity and mutual support, arguing that collective effort could help individuals and communities succeed.

The gesture is particularly notable given the long-running public interest surrounding the relationship and rivalry between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.

Rather than focusing on competition, Shatta Wale used one of Stonebwoy’s biggest songs to deliver a message of togetherness, turning the performance into one of the memorable moments from the festival.

The MoMoFest X ShattaFest attracted patrons from different parts of Ghana and formed part of activities surrounding the Asogli Te Za celebrations. Shatta Wale reportedly performed for about four hours.
