Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has drawn thousands of fans to the Accra Sports Stadium for ShattaFest 2026, turning his birthday celebration into a major music event. The concert, held over the weekend, brought together music lovers who gathered to celebrate the artiste and enjoy performances from entertainers on the bill.

Shatta Wale’s performance was energetic and emotional. The event further demonstrated the musician’s ability to mobilise a large audience and maintain a strong connection with his fan base.

Beyond the birthday celebration, ShattaFest highlighted the importance of live events to Ghana’s entertainment industry. Concerts of this scale create opportunities for performers, event organisers, vendors and other professionals working behind the scenes.

However, the event also attracted attention beyond the music, with reports highlighting comments made by Shatta Wale about fraud and alleged selective justice. This added another dimension to the public conversation surrounding a concert that was expected to focus primarily on music and celebration.

ShattaFest 2026 has therefore become a talking point not only because of its attendance but also because of the conversations it generated about celebrity influence, the music business and public accountability.
