Spain’s Ambassador to Ghana, Ángel Lossada Torres-Quevedo, has expressed strong support for Ghana’s National Amputee Football Team, the Black Challenge, ahead of the 2026 Amputee Football World Cup in Mexico.

The Ambassador highlighted the importance of the team’s participation, noting that its significance extends beyond competing for trophies to promoting inclusion, equal opportunities and the rights of persons with disabilities.

He stressed that the tournament provides an important platform to challenge stereotypes, raise awareness about disability inclusion and demonstrate the abilities and determination of persons with disabilities.

The Black Challenge represents Ghana on the international sporting stage, inspiring hope and encouraging greater recognition of the contributions of persons with disabilities to society.

Support for the team also highlights the importance of partnerships and collective efforts to ensure that athletes with disabilities receive the recognition, resources and opportunities they need to compete at the highest level.

As the team prepares for the competition in Mexico, the Ambassador’s backing underscores the broader message that sports can serve as a powerful tool for promoting dignity, equality and social inclusion.
