The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has launched the maiden Invest Ghana Summit and the 22nd Ghana Club 100 Awards as part of efforts to attract investment, create jobs and strengthen Ghana’s economy.

The launch took place in Accra on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, under the theme, “Investing in Ghana’s New Economy: Building a Productive Economy that Creates Value and Competes Globally.”

Speaking at the event, the Minister stressed the need for Ghana to move beyond exporting raw materials and focus on processing them into finished products to generate greater economic value. She noted that investment should help expand production, create employment opportunities and enable Ghanaian businesses to compete in international markets.

The Invest Ghana Summit, organised by the Ghana Investment Promotion Authority (GIPA), is scheduled for November 16 and 17, 2026, at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra. The event will bring together investors, business leaders, policymakers and development partners to explore business opportunities and establish partnerships.

The 22nd Ghana Club 100 Awards will form part of the three-day programme, with the awards ceremony scheduled for November 18, 2026. The initiative recognises outstanding Ghanaian companies for their performance, innovation, resilience and contributions to national development.

Madam Ofosu-Adjare encouraged businesses across the country to participate in the awards and showcase their achievements. She also called for stronger collaboration between government, local and foreign investors, financial institutions and the private sector.

The government says the initiatives are intended to position Ghana as an attractive investment destination while supporting industrialisation, expanding business opportunities and creating sustainable jobs.

The success of the initiatives, however, will depend on translating investment commitments into actual business operations, increased local production and employment opportunities for Ghanaians.
